WINE TOURS IN SANTIAGO AND VALPARAISO AREA
Casablanca Valley Classic & Premium Wine Tours 2 or 3 Wineries + Optional Lunch

This is a cool climate valley where they stand out for amazing whites, and Pinot Noirs, as well as Syrah and Merlot; however, recently, this valley has been going under experiments by important vintners and winemakers, making the production of Malbec and Cabernet Franc possible as well.
On our tour here, we like to bring the best out of this valley; we start out by visiting Viña William Cole, where you will get to taste their Columbine Special Reserve line, which include their Savignon Blanc, their Carmenere and a very nice blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Merlot (50% + 25% + 25% Blend).
Next is Viña Emiliana. This is biodynamic and organic, and they offer a series of very affordable and very high quality wines, such as Coyam and Signos de Origen.
We then go to Viña Quintay, where you will taste their interesting line of wines that include their reserve and grand reserve lines. They change the varieties on tastings, but they normally have Syrah, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay, as well as a Rosé and a few other varieties such as Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon from their Colchagua Valley Plantations.
Notes:
- Tasting flights are included at William Cole and at Quintay only.
- Emiliana is the winery we have as an option in case you only want to see 2 wineries + an optional lunch.
- Lunch is not included in the price, but we can include it, and charge the difference when you pay for the tour.

San Antonio Valley Premium Wine Tour 2 Wineries + Optional Lunch

The San Antonio Valley, is a small, but very beautiful valley. The two wineries we visit here are among some of the best in Chile. This Valley is known for having a very cool climate, as it is further south of the 5th region, and at the same time, they vineyards are planted bvery close to the Pacific Ocean.
We start out by picking you up from your accomodation at 09:00.
From there we will head to the first winery, Casa Marín.
It was always Mariluz Marin's dream to own a winery, and due to the time, effort and passion she has put into her winery, she makes some of the best cool climate wines in the country. This place is known for having an amazing line of wines, such as their Sauvignon Blanc; their "Casona" Gewürztraminer; their "Miramar" Riesling; and both their "Litoral" Pinot Noir and "Litoral" Syrah.
We then go for lunch and at 15:00 we will arrive at the second winery for a tour and tastings of their marvelous line of wines, Equilibrio.
Viña Matetic is known for having an excellent line of wines, as their 2004 Syrah, became on of the best wines in Chile, in its category, and they continue to make superb wines. Their Corralillo line has a great history behind it, as the "País" grape variety used to me made in a little "Corralillo", or "Playpen", which is what they called a small cellar, in the Rosario Valley, over a century ago. EQ, from the word Equilibrio, or balance, is their premium line of wines, which represents everything they stand for. EQ is known to be a premium line of wines that, year after year, keeps astounding wine lovers, and giving the San Antonio Valley a great name.
This tour ends at your accomodation by 17:30.
Notes:
- Winery Tour & Tasting flights are included at both Casa Marín and MAtetic Vineyards.
- Lunch is not included in the price, but we can include it, and charge the difference when you pay for the tour.

Aconcagua Valley Premium Wine Tour 2 wineries + Optional Lunch

The Aconcagua Valley is known for having one of the best Terroir in Chile. This place is ideal for red grapes, such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere.
The heat in this valley is essential for the balance of sugar in grapes and the temperatures at night gives it the necessary amount of cold weather that the grapes need in order to develop a good acidity. This means that by having a cold night, the acidity gets lower, and by having a hot weather it means the sugar level rises... harvest on the right day, and you get an excellently balanced wine, not too alcoholic, not too astringent, and not too high in acidity. Being that the aconcagua Valley is warm climate valley, the wines have a BIG body.
This tour consists of visiting two wineries, Errazuriz and San Esteban + a lunch in a wine museum/restaurant (Meal is not included in the price).
Errázuriz is a winery that dates back to 1870. They are the pioneers in the Aconcagua Valley, and currently own over 1,000 hectares throughout Chile. They make wine like Chadwick, which was the best wine in the worold in it's category in 2008, and they also make Seña, which up until 2004 was made in partnership with Robert Mondavi. They are also the owners of Viña Caliterra.
Viña Monasterio is a restaurant/winery that doesn't make their wine there, but they do have it on the menu, they have a wine museum, which shows how the monks used to make wine, and the food is as local as it gets; here you'll get to eat real local food, unlike at many other places where they have the fusion gourmet version of Chilean food. These guys have Parrilladas, Cazuelas, Charquicán, Pastel de Choclo, and all of our main dishes.
Viña San Esteban is located along the side of the Aconcagua River. The Carmenere is simply marvelous. They also have their grand reserve lines and their "Laguna Del Inca", which is a blend of Carmernere and Cab Sauv. Viña San Esteban is in the foothills of the Andes, and at many times of the year, you can taste their wines and enjoy of a great view of the snow capped Andes.
Notes:
- Tasting flights are included at Errázuriz and San Esteban.
- Lunch is not included in the price, but we can include it, and charge the difference when you pay for the tour.

Maipo Valley Classic and Premium Wine Tours 2 or 3 Wineries + Optional Lunch

The Maipo Valley is divided into three areas, Maipo Alto, Maipo Valle, and Maipo Costa. The Maipo is where fine wine production begins for Chile, when Mr. Silvestre Ochagavía planted the first French varieties in the mid 19th century.
There are over 10,000 hectares planted here, of which 67% is Cabernet Sauvignon and only 18% represents the white varieties planted. The soil is a mixture of clay, rocks & gravel, limestone, and other components, which are very much helped by it's climate and two rivers, the Maipo and Mapocho.
Our tour consists of visiting Viña El Principal, Viña Aquitania and either Santa Rita for a tour of the facilities plus a wine pairing lunch or Viña De Martino. This will depend on your choice of either the Classic tour or the Premium Tour.
Viña Aquitania is a boutique winery, basically in the suburbs of Santiago. They are a very small winery, which makes excellent wines, with the owners being former wine makers at Chateau Margaux, Bollinger and Chateau Pavie. They have Chile's best Chardonnay, a 2005 Sol de Sol, from the most southern grape growing region in Chile. They also stand out for their easy to drink reserve lines, at very affordable prices, and their flagship, Lazuli.
We then head to either lunch at Santa Rita, or to Viña El Principal.
Viña El Principal has one of the best winery tours in the country. They stand out for their lines "El Principal", "Memorias" and "Calicanto". They are actually have one of the most astonishing views that a winery can have, and they also offer a picnic lunch as an option (this must be reserved in advance).
Should you choose the premium tour, this includes a visit to one of my favorite wineries in the Valley, Viña De Martino, which is located in the Mid Valley area, or Maipo Valle.
De Martino is a winery that "can do no wrong", being that every one of their wines is very good, and they have very affordable prices for these gems. They are the pioneers in Chile for Carmenere exportations. The first bottle of Carmenere in Chile to leave the country was from this winery. They specialize in being ecologically sustainable, and they have a fully biodynamic and organic production. The wines from this winery that stand out the most are, Alto de Piedra and Legado, which you can taste at this winery.
Notes:
- Tasting flight and a winery tour are included at El Principal.
- Tastings flight is included at Aquitania.
- DeMartino is only included in the Premium tour.
- Lunch is not included in the price, but we can include it, and charge the difference when you pay for the tour.

Colchagua Valley Premium Wine Tour 2 or 3 Wineries + Lunch

The Colchagua Valley... This is a valley that could be a wine producing country of its own. They have very privileged topography, as they have two extensions, which make them different from any other valley in the world.
One extension opens out to the Pacific Ocean and the other opens out to the Andes Mountain Range. The climate here is just amazing. This is a valley that you have to have time to take in, which is why we have created an 11 hour tour, which leaves Santiago at 08:00 in the morning, and ends at 19:00. The distance is quite the obstacle, but not enough to keep a wine lover away.
After a two and a half hour drive to this place, you will see what I mean.
We begin by visiting Casa Silva; we go to their wine bar and have three glasses of their amazing wines. We start out with a glass of Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by their Los Lingues Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, and topping that off with their Los Lingues Petit Verdot, all three wines have been awarded with some of the highest points by the our National Tasting panel, which includes Sommeliers & Master Sommeliers from the Chilean & Italian Association.
We then go for lunch because it will be half past noon when we arrive to Santa Cruz, at Restaurant Vino Bello.
(Lunch can be at either this place or at Casa Silva, if you want to stay there after the tastings and have an early lunch).
We then go to our second winery, Laura Hartwig. This is a boutique winery that has a very high quality range of wines. They have one of the best wines in the valley, a blend of Cab, Carmenere, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. They have this rustic atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and of course a line of wines that is very good, such as their Petit Verdot, their Carmenere, their Cab Sauv, their Syrah, and their Chardonnay.
From there we will go over to the "Chilean Bordeaux", the sub-valley of Apalta. This is one of the most beautiful areas in the Colchagua Valley, as the vine rows seem endless. We can go to Casa Lapostolle Clos Apalta, which simply has some of the wine in Chile; Las Niñas, a smaller boutique winery with very good affordable wines; Viña Montes for tastings a peek through their cellars; or to Neyen for tour & 2 vintage vertical tasting. This however, is not included in the price; as we leave it open for you to choose.
Notes:
- Lunch is included in this tour.
- Tasting flights at Casa Silva and Laura Hartwig are included
- Tasting flights at Lapostolle Clos Apalta, Las Niñas, Montes, or Neyen are not included.
